Birthright (Mock-up) Cover Reveal

Birthright (The Technomage Archive, Book 1) by B.J. Keeton [Mock-up Cover]

This isn’t quite the finished product, but I’m so proud of the work that Falon has done, I had to share. We’re getting very close to being ready to fire up the Kickstarter now. Why don’t you check out the Kickstarter Preview for Birthrightย and see if you have any suggestions?

And without further ado, I give you…Birthright!

By B.J. Keeton

B.J. KEETON is a writer, teacher, and runner. When he isn't trying to think of a way to trick Fox into putting Firefly back on the air, he is either writing science fiction, watching an obscene amount of genre television, or looking for new ways to integrate fitness into his geektastic lifestyle. He is also the author of BIRTHRIGHT and co-author of NIMBUS. Both books are available for Amazon Kindle.

  1. I very much like the cover. It’s even related to the novel. Some publisher still put generic covers on books. Some German Game of Thrones softcovers use the covers of the Chalion series by Lois McMaster Bujold for instance… ugh.

While I have donated via Paypal etc. already I have not ever donated on Kickstarter. I guess I will have to create an account. But I think I can’t donate already as it reads “This project page is not live” (yet).

I think I am going for a hardcover and after reading the fine print I would like to encourage you and your fine wife to move to Europe and save me some money. I will also ask about the paper and binding of the hardcover. I expect more than the rough-cut and toilet paper atrocities you savage barbarians of the Americas got used to! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Yeah, the one thing I said was that I did not want my novel to look “self-published.” I think Falon did a great job designing the cover, and we’re going to play with the font/layout a little bit.

And yes, the Kickstarter isn’t live yet. I am still waiting on getting a short video shot/edited and a three-chapter preview prepared, then we’ll be good to go on it, I think.

  2. P.S. I will read the preview of Birthright again in summer and promise to come up with a proper and inspiring text for the back of the book. Just give me some time, my brain needs better weather and summer to get really creative. I am still in hibernation, we still have rather ugly weather in Germany.
